The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Gwinnett County, including the Dacula area, effective until 8:00 p. m. on April 20. A tornado watch means that weather conditions are favorable for development of tornados—not that any have been spotted at the time the tornado watch was issued.
At 1:45 p. m. a series of thunderstorms is to our north and northeast in the far northeastern part of the state. These thunderstorm cells are generating hail in excess of 1” diameter.
Please continue to watch the development of other storms that may effect our areas. This is a good time to practice your personal, home emergency plans.
